Terris, Nobile Lead Way for Boys’ XC in First Virtual MAPL Meet

Mercersburg’s boys’ cross country team placed three runners in the top 20—led by Josh Terris ’22 and Sam Nobile ’21—in a virtual meet against Mid-Atlantic Prep League schools Blair Academy, The Hill School, The Lawrenceville School, and Peddie School.

Each team ran the traditional 5,000-meter distance on its home course, with adjustments to times made to account for differences in course elevation and difficulty. Terris (19:20) was 13th, Nobile (19:28) took 15th, and Cole Smith ’23 (20:08) finished 20th. Jake Cruikshank ’24 (21:32, 33rd) and Aiden Kirkman ’22 (22:52, 40th) also scored for Mercersburg. 

Other Mercersburg finishers included Shin Miyamichi ’22 (23:39), Eric Liu ’22 (23:50), Justin An ’23 (24:58), Osa Iyoha ’22 (25:15), and Shoki Nemoto ’21 (29:01).

Mercersburg (121 points) placed fourth in the team standings, 30 points ahead of Blair (151). Lawrenceville won the virtual team competition (34 points).
