Swim Camp

Develop your skills in the water.
Mercersburg Swim Camp is dedicated to improving students’ techniques and helping them develop as swimmers both inside and outside of the pool. Mercersburg Academy’s storied aquatics program has produced more than 30 Olympians and brings a tradition of excellence to their summer program.
The primary aim of the camp is to provide an experience that teaches swimmers the most innovative techniques available while offering a fun environment. The philosophy is simple: swimmers don’t just compile distance, but rather work on improvements in starting, turning, and stroke techniques. Prospective registrants should be aware that this program isn’t an introduction to swimming, but rather is geared toward those with some experience on a swim team or in similar programs.
Mercersburg Swim Camp participants stay in Mercersburg Academy’s residence halls. The swimmer-to-staff ratio is around 5 to 1, and coaches and instructors are current and former college swimmers or Mercersburg Academy graduates with swimming experience.

Our Facilities and History
At 41,000 square feet, the Lloyd Aquatic Center is a gem on Mercersburg’s campus and among the premier aquatic centers in the Mid-Atlantic. The facility opened in 2019 and includes the Olympic-size 10-lane Furnary Pool with a diving area, locker rooms, seating for spectators, and offices. A system of movable bulkheads allows the 50-meter space to be transformed into two separate 25-yard courses, giving swimmers the opportunity to train and compete at both short-course and long-course distances. The pool holds 480,000 gallons of water. Dry-land training occurs in the McDowell Fitness Center, which features 6,000 square feet of contemporary equipment.
