Spring Dance Concert Held
Members of Mercersburg’s dance program returned to the Simon Theatre stage for two (socially distanced) performances of the Spring Dance Concert May 21–22, at 7:30 p.m. in the theatre, which is inside the Burgin Center for the Arts. See the full program here.
The concert included choreography by faculty, guest artists, and students, featuring ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and musical-theatre styles.
The performance marked the final appearance on the stage for eight dancers in Mercersburg’s senior class: Ryan Bland ’21, Lucy Bowman ’21, Wren Dahbura ’21, Rishika Daruwala ’21, Maddie Dawson ’21, Mia Ingram ’21, Sarah Noorbakhsh ’21, Rose Potter ’21, and Lian Wang ’21.
Guest choreographers for the concert included Katie Vickers ’06 and Cherie Sio ’19.
Dance instructors included Director of Dance Denise Dalton as well as Hans Nelson, Sean Alan Miller, and Michael Reyes.
On Friday, June 4, the Senior Recital will be livestreamed at 3:55 p.m. in the Burgin Center for the Arts Simon Theatre, and the Senior Art Reception will be held in the Burgin Center for the Arts’ Cofrin Gallery at 3:30 p.m.
