Together with the Senior Art Reception (2–3:30 p.m. in the Cofrin Gallery), the recital unofficially kicks off Commencement Weekend activities. Members of the senior class will perform for family, friends, classmates, and the general public. Admission to the recital is free, and no tickets are required.
Wren Dahbura, Dalila Melkumova, and Ebube Onwusika will be the featured vocalists. Instrumentalists will include Jordyn Beard (flute), Rae Cruea (clarinet and piano), George Divone (clarinet), Kenny Hong (baritone saxophone), Shoki Nemoto (tenor saxophone), and Dean Waters (piano).
Jim Brinson (school carillonneur and organist) and Richard Rotz (faculty emeritus) will serve as accompanists.
The Senior Art Show Opening will precede the recital, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the Burgin Center’s Cofrin Gallery.
The show will include work from Laura Schumacher, Marlee Ecton, Donovan Dowling, Elizabeth Flaherty, Amelia Page, and Ella Chatigny (ceramics).
The Cofrin Gallery will display paintings by Lucy Bowman, Clara Getty, Jay Howley, Virginia Jones and Nai'a Jurgensen. All five students took Advanced Studio Art in their upper-middler (11th-grade) year and the Voice and Vision course earlier in their senior year.
The gallery niche will feature work from Kristen Pixler’s Commarts class from the fall and winter by the following students: Sally Ballantine, Lucy Bowman, Max Bratter, Taylor Chepren, Caroline Dillard, Dylan Dowling, Aidan Kane, Gordon Lee, Bryce Mitchell, Sam Nobile, Madi Norris, Tristan Russell, Gordy Simon; Maggie Betkowski, Stanley Fang, Jay Howley, Virginia Jones, Nai'a Jurgensen, Mason Reed, Fiona Sweeney, and Victoria Taperova.
