Senior Athletes Bound for Service Academies and More

Thirteen more members of Mercersburg’s Class of 2021 have announced their college destinations and the locations where they will continue their athletic careers. The group of institutions includes the three NCAA Division I service academies (the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis), along with fellow Division I school Davidson College, the University of Ottawa in Canada, and regional NCAA Division II power Shepherd University.

Isaac Newman ’21 (boys’ diving, Army), Albuquerque, NM
Zach Queiroz ’21 (boys’ soccer, Shepherd University), Frederick, MD
Blake Simpson ’21 (boys’ swimming, Navy), Santa Maria, CA
Trevor Torres ’21 (boys’ swimming, Navy), Satellite Beach, FL
Guil Ware ’21 (boys’ swimming, Davidson College), Virginia Beach, VA

In total, 20 members of the Class of 2021 have now announced plans to compete in athletics at the college level. The group also includes Taylor Chepren ’21 (girls’ lacrosse, Marymount University), Kiersten Donnelly ’21 (girls’ swimming, University of New Hampshire), Tom Flanagan ’21 (boys’ basketball, St. Lawrence University), Ava Hull ’21 (girls’ basketball, Swarthmore College), Maiyah Johnson ’21 (girls’ basketball, Johnson & Wales University), Liz Kendrick ’21 (girls’ lacrosse, Vassar College), and Andrew Yuen ’21 (boys’ swimming, Amherst College).
