Season Ends in PAISAA Tourney for Girls’ V Lax

Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team fell to host Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 14-2, in a quarterfinal-round Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association State Tournament contest played May 20 on the SCH campus in Philadelphia.

Bridget Ahlgren ’22 scored both goals for the Blue Storm to finish her high-school career with 113 goals (along with 134 total points, 21 assists, and 155 draw controls). Leilani Isel-Register ’24 made five saves in goal for Mercersburg, which was the No. 6 seed in the state tournament; the host Blue Devils were seeded third and advance to face No. 2-seeded Agnes Irwin School in the semifinals.

It was the final game in blue and white for Ahlgren and fellow senior Maddie Schermerhorn ’22, both of whom are four-year varsity letterwinners.

The Storm finishes 2022 with a 9-6 overall record.
