The Graphic Design course provides the student with an experience to create both personal and commercial art using the current digital technology. Students will create and combine elements using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. They will explore digital technology and imaging using digital cameras, Wacom tablets, scanners, printers and Macintosh computers. Students will delve deeply into the principles and elements of design. They will explore the art of typography. They will create conceptual art within both camps of personal and commercial art. Students will have self-directed projects and client-based projects.
A major component of this course will be learning the principles and elements of design. The course will provide the students a set of tools ranging from technical to conceptual that will allow them to appreciate graphic design as a fine art.
