Getting students to and from campus—and providing a safe environment for them while they are here—is of critical importance at Mercersburg. To help ensure the safety of our students, we make the following provisions:Day Students
We provide a parking lot for day students that drive to and from campus. (The lot is located on the north side of campus on McFarland Road, near the security office and between 1893 House and the Physical Plant.) To ensure the safety of all of our students, we ask that day students not move their cars during class hours, nor take boarding students in their cars. To help enforce these requests, lunch is provided for all students, including day students.Boarding Students
For reasons of safety and space, we ask that boarding students not bring cars or motorcycles to campus. Boarding students are allowed to bring bicycles, skateboards, skates, or other forms of personal transportation for recreation and on-campus convenience.Transportation to/from Campus
During scheduled vacations and school-designated long weekends, Mercersburg’s transportation coordinator, Ms. Carol Ecton, will help arrange school transportation to and from Dulles (IAD), Baltimore-Washington (BWI), Harrisburg (MDT), and Hagerstown (HGR) airports, as well as the Amtrak station in Harrisburg, Pa.
Students are responsible for the cost of transportation, which is billed to their student account. However, students should be prepared with extra funds in case travel delays or cancellations arise.Excursion Transportation
There are many off-campus trips and adventures throughout the school year. Several school vans and buses provide transportation for larger excursions. For smaller group trips and off-campus activities, the faculty adviser in charge of the event coordinates transportation.Vacation and Travel FormsClick here

Alternately, to arrange transportation, you may download
your transportation request and return it to Ms. Carol Ecton (firstname.lastname@example.org
) in the transportation office. For busy times, such as end of term or upcoming vacations, students must turn in transportation requests at least 10 days prior to the start of vacation.
Students not going to their own home during vacations must inform the Office of Student Life of where they will be staying. Contact Mrs. Laurie Rice (email@example.com
) with any questions or concerns.
