Visual Arts

In Mercersburg’s studio arts program, students learn to take risks and master their fear of making mistakes. Courses include media ranging from ceramics to digital video art, sculpture, painting, and drawing. Student artwork is displayed in the Burgin Center for the Arts, the Sheridan Gallery in Irvine Hall, and across the campus.

What’s more, Mercersburg students regularly win prizes in juried arts competitions. Since 2009, nine students have had their work exhibited at the National K12 Ceramic Exhibition, which is the premier juried ceramic competition for students in the United States, and in the past two years, Mercersburg students have garnered six awards in the annual Mid-Atlantic Prep League Art Exhibition.
