Applying to Mercersburg

International Admission

Mercersburg Academy is one of just a handful of schools that creates a real microcosm of the world, enrolling a student body that represents 40 nations. While the general application requirements noted above apply, there are a few additional factors to consider.

List of 4 items.

  • English as a Second Language

Mercersburg does not offer ESL support during the academic school year. International students are expected to have a strong command of the English language. All non-native English speakers are required to submit a TOEFL test in addition to the SSAT.
  • Admission Contacts

For questions regarding International Admission please contact Anna Crouch, International Admission Coordinator, at Anna_Crouch@mercersburg.edu. For questions regarding I-20s and/or the Visa application process please contact Michelle Faust, PDSO, at Michelle_Faust@mercersburg.edu.
  • Interviews

If you are unable to visit campus, the Office of Admission may schedule interviews via Skype or FaceTime. To schedule an interview, please contact the Office of Admission at admission@mercersburg.edu or 717-328-6173.
  • Chinese Applicants

In order to best get to know students applying from China, we require an in-person interview with an admission officer, either on campus or in China. Please submit TOEFL and SSAT results prior to scheduling an interview. In order for a student's application to be considered for admission, we strongly advise them to have at least a 95 on the TOEFL iBT and 2100 on the SSAT. If possible, please submit the parent and student sections of the SAO (Standard Application Online) prior to visiting.

For your reference, based on the currently enrolled Chinese students, the average TOEFL iBT score is 101 and the average SSAT score is 2220.

The application deadline for the 2017-2018 admission cycle will be January 15, 2017. We encourage students to visit prior to January, as our schedule fills up quickly with appointments.
