Located immediately past the circulation desk, the Hager Reading Room serves as a quiet sanctuary within the library, which can, at times, be buzzing with activity. The room holds two large oak tables with installed lamps, as well as 4 plush leather chairs and a coffee table. This room functions as a reading room during daytime hours, and a silent reading room during Evening Quiet Hours.
Located on the 2nd floor of the library, the Periodical Area displays all of the Lenfest Library's periodical subscriptions. An inviting space for leisure reading, research, and studying, this area features several plush reading chairs as well as two large oak reading tables with installed lamps.
The fourth floor of the library serves as the Research Commons, an area in which a whole class will be able to gather and conduct research. This open-concept area features custom high-top tables, a recently revamped reference section, free copier, a digital display, and a new computer bar. The Research Commons will enhance the student experience by connecting technology and print media across the curriculum.
Named for Ernest Staley, long-time faculty member and the Academy’s first archivist, the Academy Archives are located in the climate controlled facility on the first floor of Lenfest Hall.
