Break Travel

Mercersburg’s Office of Global Programs & Initiatives

As part of Mercersburg’s mission statement, we state that, “Mercersburg Academy prepares young people from diverse backgrounds for college and for life in a global community.”

In an effort to facilitate student understanding of what living within a global community means, the Office of Global Programs and Initiatives exists to oversee that all students have access to a global learning at some point during their time at Mercersburg. Some of the experiences to which students may have access are:

  • travel programs with faculty members over spring break or summer
  • travel programs with faculty members in summer exchange programs with our partner schools in Chile, France, China, or Germany
  • class or activity-specific opportunities such as robotics or dance competitions
  • field experience in Costa Rica
  • service experience
  • Symposium experience
  • outdoor education experience abroad
  • student-driven experience through MAPS Global Scholars Program
