Mercersburg Academy’s Alumni Council is pleased to recognize four faculty and staff members who are retiring at the close of the 2019-2020 academic year. They include faculty members Sue Malone P ’01, ’03 (who is retiring after 38 years of service) and Richard Rotz (24 years), as well as staff members Jeff Goetz P ’07 (30 years) and Paula Moran (12 years).

Dear Mercersburg community, I am writing to you with a heavy heart as we watch our nation’s cities erupt in protests in response to ongoing injustices toward Black Americans, and specifically in reaction to George Floyd’s senseless murder on May 25 in Minneapolis. Amidst an unprecedented world pandemic that has challenged us in ways that are real and deep, we now must also confront the harsh realities of racism that continue to plague our country.
