Wrestlers Compete at Prep Nationals
Five Mercersburg wrestlers participated in the National Prep Wrestling Tournament in Upper Marlboro, MD February 24 and 25.
On the boys' side, Alex Forrester '23, Hayden Shirk '24, and Luke Hendricks '24 each won one match and finished the tournament 1-2. All three ran into tough opponents, but Shirk did manage to defeat the wrestler from Penn Charter who defeated him twice just a week earlier in the PAISWT tournament.
For the girls', Cocona Yamamoto '25 picked up two wins and finished 2-2 while Page Starkey '24 ended up 0-2.
The season is now complete for the Blue Storm wrestling team.
