Adam Deavers '23 singled in two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Blue Storm baseball team rallied to defeat visiting Grace Academy (Hagerstown, MD) 11-10 April 7.

The Knights built a 9-3 lead after four innings, but Mercersburg scored two in the fifth (on a two-run triple by Caleb Newcomer '23) and four in the sixth (three of them on a home run by Ryan MacInnis '23) to send the game to extra innings. Grace scored a run in the top of the eighth to move back on top before Deavers delivered the game-winner with two outs in the bottom half.

Danny Adusei-Poku '23 and Matt Archibald '23 had three hits each and Augie Bennett '24 got the pitching win with three solid innings in relief.

The game was the opener of the Reisner-Gift Invitational Tournament, which honors Mercersburg's long-time coaching duo. The Blue Storm (4-3) takes on Linsly School (Wheeling, WV) in the next round of the tournament on Saturday, April 8 at 2:30 pm.
