Track Teams Perform Well at State Meet

Mercersburg produced several outstanding performances at the PAISAA state track meet May 18 and one school record fell for the second time this season.

Malvern Prep (Malvern, PA) hosted the event, which was only open to athletes who produced qualifying results during earlier meets. The highlight of the day for the Storm was the girls' 4x800 relay team of Madison Goodhart '24, Ella Blanco '26, Lilly Killinger '26, and Anne Sehon '25, who shattered the school record with a time of 9:54.25 and missed first place in the event by just 0.04 seconds. Goodhart '24 also finished third in the javelin with a throw of 98-01 and Sehon took fifth in the individual 800M by running a time of 2:22.76. Bella Levina '25 grabbed second place in the pole vault by clearing 9-06.

For the boys', Charlie Xu '26 finished second in both the 100M (10.88) and 200M dash (22.30) while Adrian Rios '25 tossed the javelin 140-6 to take fifth place.

"It was a great season" said head coach Nikki Walker, "and many of our best athletes are coming back next year!"
