Track Teams First and Third at St. Albans

The girls' track & field team finished first (out of ten teams) while the boys' came in third out of eleven at the St. Albans/National Cathedral School (Washington, DC) Mini-Invite April 13.

Mercersburg's girls outdistanced the co-hosts from NCS by a score of 140.5 to 101. Anne Sehon '25 took first place in both the 400m and 800m runs with Marlo Williams '25 winning the 100m hurdles (and taking second in shot put) and Nia Henley '24 taking first in the 100m dash and second in the 200m.. Bella Levina '25 had a big day as she won the pole vault while finishing runner-up to Williams in the hurdles and also taking second in the triple jump. Erika Sowah '24 was second to Sehon in the 400m. The boys' team had no event winners, but strong team depth carried the Storm to a solid third-place finish.

"It was another cold day on the track with a strong breeze," said head coach Nikki Walker, "but the surface was fast and we once again learned a lot about our strengths and what we need to work on moving forward."
