Track Teams Compete at MAPL Meet

The girls' track & field team finished third in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Championship meet while the boys' took fourth in the competition which was hosted by Lawrencville School on Saturday, May 11.

Lawrenceville won the girls' competition with a total of 188 points while Peddie edged Mercersburg for second place by two points, 121-119. Peddie racked up 156 points to take first place on the boys' side while Hill finished second, followed by Lawrenceville and Mercersburg.

The girls' team produced three MAPL champions and two school records at the meet. Anne Sehon '25 won the 800M in a time of 2:18.76, which broke the school record held by Lena Finucane '09 for the past 17 years. Bella Levina '25 also broke a school record, winning the pole vault by clearing 10 feet even. Ashley Heisey '12 set the previous mark 12 years ago. The third win came from the 4x800M relay team of Ella Blanco '26, Maddie Chu '27, Gigi Devlin '24, and Lilly Killinger '26.

Head coach Nikki Walker commented, "It was a beautiful day. The kids are all peaking at the perfect time. Many personal records were accomplished and some gutsy competition was had. In addition to the three wins, the team produced many seconds, thirds, and beyond!"

For those who qualified, the final competition of the season will be the PAISAA state track meet on Saturday, May 18 at Malvern Prep.
