A handful of Mercersburg indoor track & field athletes participated in the Germantown Prep Private School Invitational February 3, and the Storm produced several outstanding results.
Anne Sehon '25 broke the school record in the 500m running 1:22.52 and she finished sixth overall while Adrienne Howard '26 ran the 300m in 44.19 and is now ranked third in Mercersburg's Top 10 list for that event.
In the longer races, Will Wallace '27 (5:17.78) and Chris Carbone '26 (4:55.91) both ran lifetime PR's in the 1600m. For the girls, Ella Blanco '26 (3:22.89) and Leah Willis '24 (3:24.07) ran the 1k and finished seventh and eighth in the meet, but moved into third and fourth respectively on the Top 10 list. For the boys, Winston Watkins '25 also ran the 1k (2:48.37) and finished ninth in the race while moving into fifth place on the school's Top 10 list.
"I was enormously surprised and impressed by the performances today," said head coach Betsy Cunningham. "We had so many PR's and athletes who will now be ranked in our Top 10 list."
