St. Albans School (Washington, DC) defeated the Blue Storm boys' golf team 318-336 in an 18-hole match played at the Chambersburg Country Club April 8.

Mercersburg expected a tough match, according to head coach Doug Smith, as St. Albans has several strong, veteran golfers in its lineup. Argyle Downes '24 was once again the medalist with a rock solid round of 74 (+1). Other scores were posted by Jason Jones '24 (84), Ethan Xin '23 (86), and Daniel Zhong '23 (92).

"This was a match we had been looking forward to in the lead up to it," commented Coach Smith. "We knew they were going to be strong and battle tested but I feel we left a lot out there.  To a person we were all just a tad off our potential. We now have a week to prepare for an 18-hole match away at Brookside where the boys will be itching to get back at it."

The Blue Storm takes on Hill at the Brookside Country Club in Macungie, PA on Saturday, April 15 beginning at noon.
