Spring Dance Concert Set for Saturday

By Elise Gao ’26

Mercersburg Academy’s annual Spring Dance Concert will take place on Saturday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Burgin Center for the Arts’ Simon Theatre. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.

The concert, which features a mix of styles like hip hop, ballet, contemporary, and jazz, includes highlights such as “Graduation Ball,” a comedic ballet; “Invoke,” an original work by Rupp; and a special surprise piece performed by seniors. For those who missed the fall iteration of the concert–fear not. The Spring Concert will also bring back crowd favorites for an encore. “It’s a really diverse concert that I think has a little something for everybody,” stated Kelsy Rupp, Mercersburg’s director of dance.

“We have 10 graduating seniors performing in this concert,” added Rupp. Seniors include Elizabeth Orders, Maggie Coors, Ellie Sapp, Celia Kerf, Stella Johnson, Sophia Mielke, Mikahel Martinez-Arocho, Maddie Weiss, Lucia Gamble, and Amanda Xi. Each senior will be highlighted across various pieces and solos. The group will finish with a senior-exclusive surprise piece which, Rupp promises, will be very special.

“This concert is going to be a really fun one,” said Rupp. She encourages the community to come out and enjoy an evening showcasing the students’ hard work.
