- Athletics
Mercersburg’s spring sports teams officially began their respective 2022 campaigns March 22, when the varsity baseball and girls’ lacrosse teams headed to Spring Mills, WV, and Forestville, MD (respectively), for their season openers.
The first home varsity contest of the season was March 24, when the softball team defeated the Maryland School for the Deaf on Spider Field.
(The baseball, softball, and girls’ lacrosse teams all got a head start on the season with trips to Florida for spring training during Mercersburg’s spring break.)
Blaine Davies takes over as head boys’ varsity tennis coach this spring; he has coached at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels, including a three-year stint as the head boys’ and girls’ tennis coach at Hood College in Frederick, MD.
