Mercersburg's girls' varsity and JV cross country teams placed a respectable fourth out of six teams in the A division at the Ben Blosser Invitational, hosted by Big Springs high school (Newville, PA) September 17.

The top finishers for the Blue Storm varsity are listed below with Blanco and Sowah taking medalist honors by finishing in the top 25.

#5 Ella Blanco '23, 21:29 (lifetime PR/best by two minutes)
#24 Erika Sowah '24, 24:14 (season PR by three minutes)
Clare Ip '23, 25:49 (season PR by two minutes)
Linley Hill '23, 26:15 (season PR by three minutes)
Gigi Devlin '24, 27:24 (lifetime PR by thirty seconds)

Head coach Betsy Cunningham commented, "We were missing two out of our top three so this result is decent but bodes well for the future. The JV runners also did extremely well.  All either had lifetime or season PRs."

Mercersburg will jog down to McClean, Virginia for an unusual midweek race against Madeira on Wednesday, September 21.  This event is part of the M Cup competition between the two schools.
