Shalom Christian Academy came to Mercersburg September 22 and defeated both the varsity and JV volleyball teams.

In the JV contest, the Blue Storm took the first set 25-23, but Shalom found its groove and took the next two sets 25-7 and 15-3. Elena Sanz Perez '25 and Lilly Crounse '25 played hard at the net while Shine Jo '25 had multiple assists as the setter. Head coach Amanda Cunningham added that "Jessica Nguyen '25 played a great defensive game, covering the court and making impressive saves."

Shalom and Mercersburg split the first two sets in the varsity match with Shalom taking the opener 25-18 and the Blue Storm bouncing back to take set #2 25-21. Much like the JV event, Shalom got better as the match went along and won the final two sets by 25-15 scores.

Morgan Fisher '23 led Mercersburg with 10 kills while Priscilla Lee '23 had 16 assists and Alyssa Lee '25 had 6 digs.

Both teams travel to Fannet-Metal high school on Saturday, September 24 for their third match in four days, starting at 11 a.m.
