Quinn Nelson '24 Wins MAPL Girls' Cross Country Meet

Mercersburg's Quinn Nelson '24 finished first in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Cross Country Championship October 25 and Anne Sehon '25 took third, leading the Blue Storm to a third place finish as a team. The race was hosted by Peddie School (Hightstown, NJ).

Nelson ran a lifetime best of 18:55 and Sehon's 19:56 was also a personal record. Both of those runners earned All-MAPL honors by finishing in the top ten, and six other girls (Gigi Devlin '24, Madeleine Chu '27, Susanna Huang '27, Marli Elshazly '26, Linden Wallace '25, and Annie Wu '27) also achieved personal record times.

Head coach Betsy Cunningham commented, "We will especially miss our seniors and loved the captains' version of "Twas the Night  Before MAPLs" which is a fun tradition started several years ago. Leah (Willis '23) and Erika (Sowah '24) were great captains and we will miss them enormously next fall.
