Potomac Nips Girls’ V Lacrosse

Mercersburg’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team fell behind host Potomac School 5-0 and nearly came all the way back, but the Panthers held on for an 11-9 win April 12 in Langley, VA.

After the 5-0 deficit, the Blue Storm (4-4) pulled within 6-5 at halftime. The one-goal margin held for most of the second half, until Mercersburg had to pressure hard to break a stall and Potomac broke through for a two-goal lead.

Bridget Ahlgren ’22 led Mercersburg with four goals. Zarreen Sorho ’23 scored three goals and had an assist, while Zareena Sorho ’23 had a goal and three assists. Linley Hill ’23 tallied a goal and an assist, and Hailey Chepren ’23 and Savannah Poe ’23 each had one assist. Leilani Isel-Register had four saves for the Blue Storm in goal.

Mercersburg has a quick turnaround, as the Storm hosts Gettysburg High School Wednesday, April 13, at 4:30 p.m. at Regents’ Field.
