Perfect Score for Boys' Cross Country

Mercersburg swept the top five spots to score a 15-48 win over visiting Kiski School (Saltsburg, PA) in a boys' cross country race September 28.

Ryan Du Plessis '25 once again led the way for the Storm and crossed the line first in a time of 17:40.7. The next three runners paced each other through most of the race with Winston Watkins '25 winding up second (18:34.1), Will Wallace '27 third (18:40.7), and Joseph Cechini '28 fourth (18:49.8). Ahman Habib '26 passed the top Kiski runner in the final mile to finish fifth in 19:13.2 and give Mercersburg the clean sweep.

Head coach David Grady commented, "Today was a bit of a breakthrough for Will Wallace, who ran with the leaders and finished under 19:00 for the first time on a 5K cross country course. His moving up to run with our top three greatly enhances our ability to perform well as a team. Ahman Habib is also inching closer to running sub-19:00 and closing the gap to the top three runners."

The Storm will race at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday, October 5 beginning at 8 am.
