Mercersburg set a new record in the girls' 4x400 relay during the "Midwinter Madness" indoor track meet in the Hale Field House January 21.
Mercersburg Girls' Highlights:
Hannah King ’23, Erika Sowah ’24, Anne Sehon ’25, and Adrienne Howard ’26 teamed up to set a new indoor track & field school record in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:23.83. The previous record was 4:25.78 set in 2019. The 4x400m relay team placed 3rd overall in a very competitive race. Earlier in the meet, Hannah King won the high jump with a jump of 5’ 0”. King has won the high jump in each of the three invitational meets hosted by Mercersburg this winter. Kamden Jenkins ’26 had her best high jump of the season, 4’ 6”, to place 7th overall. Her jump ties her for 8th on the all-time Mercersburg indoor track & field lists. Anne Sehon placed 3rd in the 1600m in a time of 5:41.76. Her time ranks her 6th on the all-time Mercersburg indoor track & field lists for the 1600m. Ella Blanco ’26 placed 2nd in the 3200m in a time of 12:41.04, her best time of the winter season. Erika Sowah placed 3rd in the long jump with a jump of 15’ 6”, and 5th in the triple jump with a jump of 31’ 10.25”. Her long jump ranks 7th, and her triple jump ranks 5th on the all-time Mercersburg indoor track & field lists.
Mercersburg Boys' Highlights:
Matt Archibald ’23 placed 2nd in the long jump with a jump of 19’ 2.5”. Oscar Su ’25 placed 4th in the pole vault at 8’ 10”. Cole Smith ’23 placed 5th in the 3200m in a time of 11:18.33. Caleb Newcomer ’23 placed 8th in the finals of a very competitive 55m dash with a time of 6.93. Newcomer has made it to the finals of the 55m in each of the three indoor track & field invitationals held at Mercersburg this winter.
