Mercersburg Swimming/Diving is Top Team at Easterns!

The Storm swimming and diving teams posted the top overall score at the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championship (known as Easterns) February 14 + 15, winning the combined title for the second time in the past three years.

Andover barely edged out Mercersburg (by 13.5 points) for first place on the boys' side while the Storm girls finished third behind Germantown Academy and Penn Charter. But the combined team total of 1252 points easily outpaced Andover (1059.5) and Exeter (1032) and was the highest team score since Easterns began tracking the combined total back in 2019.

The individual highlight of the meet was Caiden Bowers '25 breaking the meet and pool record by swimming the 100 butterfly in 46.64 seconds. That swim lowered his own Mercersburg record of 47.36 that he swam back in November. Bowers also teamed up with Jayden Kwon '27, Nick Green '25, and Raphael Sibuet '25 to win the 200 medley relay, the first event on the boys' program.

This was the 90th edition of Easterns, which is hosted each year by Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.
