Mercersburg Hosts MAPL Track Meet

The Hale Field House hosted the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Indoor Track & Field Championships for the second year in a row February 10. Mercersburg's girls' team finished in third place overall while the boys' took fifth.

Anne Sehon '25 continued her terrific indoor season by winning the MAPL Championship in the girls' 800 meters, and set a new school record of 2:21:26 in doing so. Charlie Xu '26 was the boys' long jump champion, and he also set a school record in the 55m hurdles, finishing second with a time of 6.60. Adrienne Howard finished third in the girls' triple jump and fifth in the 200 meters (27.65) while Bella Levina '25 scored points in three events finishing fourth in the girls' 55m hurdles, second in the triple jump, and second in the pole vault, where she tied her own school record of 9' 3". Quinn Nelson '24 took third in the girls' 1600 meters, running it in 5:15.44. Nelson, Sehon, and Xu have all qualified for the PA State Championship Meet on February 25.

Next up for the Storm is the PAISSA Indoor Track Meet for Pennsylvania independent schools, which will also be held in Mercersburg on Saturday, February 17.
