The Mid-Atlantic Prep League Indoor Track & Field Championships were held in the Hale Field House February 11. The Lawrenceville girls' team easily outdistanced Peddie for the girls' title while the Peddie boys' narrowly edged Hill. Mercersburg finished fourth in the girls' competition and fifth on the boys' side.

Highlights for the Mercersburg girls' included Hannah King ’23, who won the high jump at 5’ 0”, successfully defending her MAPL indoor title from last year. King also placed 5^th in the 55m hurdles in a time of 10.38 seconds. Erika Sowah ’24 placed 3^rd in the long jump (15’ 8.75”) and 4^th in the triple jump (31’ 6.75”). Sowah’s long jump ranks her tied for 5^th on the all-time Mercersburg indoor track & field lists. Ella Blanco ’26 placed 3^rd in the 3200m (12:20.01) and 5^th in the 1600m (5:38.94). Blanco’s time in the 3200m rank her #4 and her 1600m time ranks her #6 on the all-time Mercersburg indoor track & field lists. Abby Kendall ’26 placed 5^th in the 55m in a time of 7.86 seconds. Alyssa Lee ’25 placed 5^th in the Pole Vault with a vault of 5’ 7”.  Quin Caretti '24 placed 6^th in the Shot Put with a throw of 23’ 0”. King, Sowah, Kendall, and Kamden Jenkins ’26 teamed up to place 5^th in the 4x400m Relay in a time of 4:49.02.

For the boys, John Blanco ’23 won the triple jump with a jump of 39’ 6.5”. Blanco’s jump ranks him #5 on the all-time Mercersburg indoor track & field lists for the triple jump. Oscar Su ’25 placed 2^nd in the pole vault at 9’ 0”. Charlie Xu ’26 placed 2^nd in the high jump with a jump of 5’ 3”. Matt Archibald ’23 placed 3^rd in the long jump with a jump of 19’ 6.75”.  Cole Smith ’23 placed 4^th in the 3200m in a time of 10:47.01.  Caleb Newcomer ’23 placed 5^th in the 55m dash with a time of 6.91 seconds. Derrick Park ’25 placed 5^th in the 55m hurdles in a time of 9.33 seconds and 6^th in the triple jump (34’ 7.5”). Park’s time in the 55m hurdles ranks him #5 in that event on the all-time Mercersburg indoor track & field lists. Ken Akiyama ’23, Dylan Stiffler ’24, Felix Kreis ’24, and Oscar Su teamed up to place 5^th in the 4x400m Relay in a time of 3:56.91.
