Mercersburg Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Board of Regents members who will be working with newly elected board president G. Ames Prentiss '89, P '20, '21 and existing board members. As the school’s governing body, the Board is composed of approximately 30 individuals, including alumni, parents of alumni, current parents, and friends of the school, who are each appointed to serve a three-year term (or two-year term for Ex-Officio). Together, they provide leadership, planning models, and strategic guidance in support of Mercersburg’s mission and future.

This year’s newest members are Ryan Colby ’07, Brock Vinton ’66, Jason Chui ’13, and Krister Killinger P ’26, ’28.

William (Ryan) Colby ’07 is global head of strategy and planning for Uber’s delivery business. He advises its leadership on strategy across consumers, couriers, merchants, and sales; leads planning; and helps manage new growth businesses. He has spent nine of the past 12 years at Uber in strategy and operations roles. During his time away, he worked at digital health startups focused on expanding home-based healthcare. He began his career at Analysis Group working on financial litigation.

Colby is returning to Mercersburg’s Board of Regents after serving as a Young Alumni Regent from 2022 to 2025. During his term, he served on the Finance, Infrastructure and Technology, and Educational Programming, and Student Life committees. He has also served on the reunion committees for his 5th, 10th, and 15th reunions and is helping plan his 20th. At Mercersburg, he was a swimmer and played baseball.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and anthropology from Amherst College. He lives in Swarthmore, PA, with his wife, Karin, and their three children. 

Brock Vinton ’66 serves as president and CEO of The Commonwealth Group LLC. Vinton graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1970 with a B.S. in banking, finance and real estate. After serving as an officer in the United States Navy, Vinton founded the Commonwealth Management Corporation, which merged into The Commonwealth Group, Ltd. Over the past five decades, Vinton has been actively involved as principal or general partner in the development, sale, financing, leasing and management of more than 10 million square feet of office, industrial, and residential space valued in excess of $2 billion. 

Vinton is, or has been, a member of the board of directors of several corporations and nonprofit agencies, including The Nature Conservancy, Universata, Delaware Art Museum, Delaware Police Chief Association, Committee of 100, the Delaware Chamber of Commerce, and Christiana Care Hospital. 

Jason Chui ’13 is an equity research analyst and investor focusing on the industrial and technology sectors. He previously gained professional experience at Deloitte Hong Kong and subsequently transitioned to buy-side equity research in Shanghai. Throughout his career, he has developed a broad analytical baseline across diverse industries while maintaining a keen curiosity about businesses. 

After Mercersburg, he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in applied mathematics and history from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Growing up in Shenzhen, China, he spent eight years in the U.S. before working in Hong Kong and Shanghai. He is an avid racket sports player, having played varsity tennis and squash during his time at Mercersburg. He now lives in Shanghai, China. 

Krister Killinger P ’26, ’28 is a fine artist, gentleman farmer, and a retired Fairfax County school teacher. He is also an illustrator and graphic designer and has created artwork for books, greeting cards, gift wrap, and home décor.  

At an early age, Killinger was greatly influenced by the master works of Andrew Wyeth and Norman Rockwell, both of whom he admires for excellence in craftsmanship and creativity. Killinger explores the mastery of realism in his artwork, wanting only for the viewer to experience the beauty in what he sees.

He recently held a show at Mercersburg titled The Farm, featuring earlier works depicting farm life alongside more recent paintings inspired by the farm he and his wife, Angela, own. Presently, the Killingers live in Middleburg, VA, with their son and three daughters. Their daughter Lilly graduated from Mercersburg in 2026, and their son, Keagan, will graduate in 2028.
