Mercersburg defeated host Grier School (Tyrone, PA) 3-0 in a JV volleyball match October 12 for the team's fifth consecutive victory.

None of the games were blowouts as the Blue Storm took the three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-19, and 25-21. Shine Jo '25 was once again the leader in both aces (6) and digs (21) while Katie Lee '26 served up 5 aces of her own. "The team had a great passing game," commented head Coach Amanda Cunningham, with four other players joining Jo with double-figure digs including Avallina Orfield '25 (18), Elena Sans Perez '25 (14), and Mary Grady '25 and Olivia Wetzel '24 with 12 each. Lily Crounse '25 led the team with 3 kills while Wetzel and Lareina Wang '26 each had 2.

Mercersburg will try to keep the streak rolling with a rematch against Grier on Wednesday, October 12, this time at home, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
