Mercersburg hosted two dozen indoor track and field teams in the Hale Field House for the first meet of the season December 13, and the Storm produced several noteworthy performances.
Bella Levina '25 set a new school record in the girls' pole vault clearing 9'4" to improve upon her own mark. The boys' 4x400 team of Ryan Du Plessis '25, Winston Watkins '25, Iman Zhakan '26, and Eric Cittadine '26 set a new school record of 3:38.81, topping a time that had stood since 2020. Cittadine also made the Top 10 all-time in the boys' 55-meter hurdles running a time of 8.92 to move into the #2 position. Ella Blanco '26 moved into third place on the all time list in the girls' 3200m run by finishing in 11:50.63 and Du Plessis made the Top 10 in the boys' 1600m run with the third-fastest time in school history, running it in 4:29.26.
"It was a great first meet," said head coach Betsy Cunningham. She added, "So many outstanding performances! The team was great at supporting each other and enjoying the carnival feel of a first track meet."
