Hill Gets By Boys' Varsity Soccer Team in OT

Hill defeated visiting Mercersburg 2-1 in overtime in a Mid-Atlantic Prep League boys' soccer matchup October 28.

Hill controlled the ball for much of the first half, but Augie Bennett '24 made several spectacular saves to keep the Rams off the scoreboard, and then Grant Wilkinson '26 put the Blue Storm on top 1-0, a lead they held until halftime.

Bennett continued his strong play in the second half, but Hill was able to find the net with twenty minutes left to force overtime. The Rams got the game-winner early in the overtime period to end the contest.

In the JV matchup, Hill and Mercersburg battled to a 2-2 draw. Dean Tae '24 scored on a first half penalty kick to tie the game at one and Jaekwan Kim '26 scored in the second half to give the Blue Storm a 2-1 lead. But Hill scored on a corner late in the game to salvage the 2-2 tie. The JV squad finished with a record of 4-6-1.

The loss snapped the varsity's six-game unbeaten streak, and ends the team's regular season play with a final record of 7-4-4 overall, 3-2 in the MAPL. The Blue Storm will participate in the PAISAA State Tournament next week with seeding and opponent still to be determined.
