Hill Downs Blue Storm Boys' Golf Team

Hill defeated Mercersburg 5-1 in a boys' golf match play event played at the Brookside Country Club in Pottstown, PA April 26.

In what has become an annual tradition, Hill and the Blue Storm set aside the normal stroke play format and engaged in a match play competition with six golfers from each side battling to win each individual hole. The Hill squad played very well on their home course and won several matches decisively. Argyle Downes '24 was the lone winner for Mercersburg, continuing his stellar play on the way to a 6 and 5 victory. Co-captain Daniel Zhong '23 struggled a bit and fell 6 and 5 while Azian Subhani '23 and Ryan Kothari '25 each lost 7 and 6. The final two matches went all the way to the 18th hole, but Jason Jones '24 and co-captain Ethan Xin '23 were unable to win the final hole of their matches, and Hill took both points.

"That was a tough match for us and it was close in the sense we took two matches to the 18th  hole and could've tied the match overall, but Hill showed superior depth on the day.  We need to shake this off quickly because the MAPL tournament is right around the corner and we are focusing on that big match."

That Mid-Atlantic Prep League Championship will be played on Wednesday, May 3 at noon at the Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Lawrenceville, NJ.
