Luke Hendricks ’24, Alex Forrester ’23, and Hayden Shirk ’24 carried the Mercersburg banner at the 2022 National Prep Wrestling Championships February 25–26 in Upper Marlboro, MD. Hendricks won three matches at 285 to lead the way, finishing with a 3–2 mark; Forrester and Shirk each went 1–2 in their weight classes.

Hendricks was the No. 13 seed at 285 pounds; he dropped his first match at 285 pounds but won consolation bouts over Gus Bachner of Green Farms Academy (CT) and Mario Diaz of Long Island Lutheran (NY) to advance to the consolation round of 8. He then defeated Losini Maka of Blair Academy by decision before seeing his tournament end at the hands of Gavin Bage of Mount St. Joseph (Baltimore).

Forrester (competing in his second National Preps at 132 pounds) and Shirk (making his first National Preps appearance at 145) were eliminated on Day 1. Both went 1–2.
