Golfers Outscore Bullis JV

With the top male golfers competing in the MAPL Championship May 3, Mercersburg sent a mixed squad of male and female golfers to Falls Road Golf Course in Potomac, Md to face a mixed squad Bullis School JV players, and came home with a 227-243 victory.

Head coach Doug Smith reported that, "the team played very well and the ball striking was excellent; we left lots of strokes on the course because of putting." Amanda Xi '25 was the medalist for the match with a fantastic 42 on the day.  Sihyeon Bae '24 and Kate Kalinowski '24 both continued their steady play while each recording a 45. Captain Plern Pidbuldham '23 was next in line continuing her good play and posting a 46. The 5th score in the match was put up by Cameron Gierasch '26, who came through in his first match with a rock solid 49.

"These coed matches have been quite a bit of fun for the team, and getting players in that don't usually get match action was great," added Coach Smith. "Cameron shooting a 49 is a great round for him and we're excited that he stepped up. The girls have become very consistent and solid and they are entering a great stretch of golf with the Hill School coming here (on Saturday, May 6 for a 1 pm match at the Chambersburg Country Club), the MAPL Championship, and the State Championship still to come."
