Mercersburg defeated St. Maria Goretti 162-211 in a match played at Chambersburg Country Club October 5.

After two weeks off the team was eager to get back into action, and the weather provided an ideal day for fall golf. Argyle Downes '24 led the way as medalist with a 37 while Jason Jones '24 and Ethan Xin '23 each recorded scores of 41 that could have been lower. Daniel Zhong '23 recovered from a slow start to shoot 42 and complete the scoring.

"We definitely had a lower round in us today" Coach Smith lamented. "Our team as a unit were +11 over for the last three holes. We need to make sure we finish off our rounds with effort and concentration. This team has a high ceiling but we don't have a large amount of room for blowups. We will need to be mentally tough from this point forward with a tough run of matches through the end of October."

The Blue Storm travels to the Falls Road Golf Course (Potomac, MD) to take on St. Andrew's Episcopal School (also in Potomac) on Tuesday, October 11 at 4 p.m.
