Golfers Defeat Hill For Second Week In A Row

The Blue Storm traveled to Pottstown, PA October 29 to take on The Hill School at Brookside Country Club. This match consisted of six golfers from each team divided into pairs playing alternate shot on the front and best ball on the back to get a total score. Mercersburg emerged victorious by a score of 253-266.

Argyle Downes '24 and Jason Jones '24 carded an excellent 77 with a split of 42/35. Next in the scoring was the tandem of co-captains Daniel Zhong '23 and Ethan Xin '23, who were rock solid on the day. They had a 42/37 split for a 79 that was a much needed low second score. Next up were Arjun Patel '23 and Chris Labolle '23, who struggled a bit with the format and came in with a 97.

"This is a fun style of play that we don't get to experience outside of the MAPL Championship." Coach Smith commented. "I find it unique because you are playing for not just yourself but your playing partner also. Our team unity is strong this year and these types of events help to solidify the all for one and one for all camaraderie of the squad."

Mercersburg and Hill go at it again on Sunday, October 30 in the Keystone Cup at Radley Run Country Club in West Chester, PA. Kiski School (Salzburg, PA) will join the Rams and Blue Storm for the Keystone Cup.
