Mercersburg defeated visiting Highland School (Warrenton, VA) 14-12 in a girls' varsity lacrosse game played on Regents' Field March 20.

Emerson Lissette '24 led the Storm with 8 goals, including four straight to start the second quarter as Mercersburg turned a 3-3 tie into a four goal lead. The Storm led the rest of the way, but each time they threatened to pull away, Highland rallied and kept the game close. Chloe Allis '25 had 3 goals for Mercersburg with Nora Smith '24 adding 2 (along with 8 draw controls) and Alishya Thurmond '26 scored once. Allis, Thurmond, and Mogere Nyakoe '25 had one assist each and Scarlett McArthur '24 had 8 saves.

"It was great to open with a win," said head coach Kristin Ahlgren.

Mercersburg plays at Episcopal High School (Alexandria, VA) on Saturday, March 23 at 11 am.
