Mercersburg defeated host Madeira School (McLean, VA) 4-3 in a girls' varsity tennis match September 13 that was part of the M Cup competition between the two schools.

The two teams split the four singles matches, but the Blue Storm took the team victory by prevailing in two of the three doubles contests. Head coach Mike Sweeney commented, "Today's match was very competitive, full of closely contested points on every court. Nice improvements in doubles positioning paid off as we were able to end points at the net more often. We are making progress."

Mercersburg is now 3-0 and will host Flint Hill School (Oakton, VA) on Saturday, September 16 at 1 pm.
