Girls' V Squash Edges St. Andrew's

In a final tuneup before US Nationals, the girls' varsity squash team squeezed past host St. Andrew's School (Middletown, DE) 5-4 February 18.

The day's first four matches were a 2-2 split with #5 Hisano Enomoto '23 and #7 Mogere Nyakoe '25 each coming up with 3-0 wins. When the next four got underway, #2 Martina Vega '23 and #3 Greta Lawler '23 also cruised to 3-0 victories, leaving the Blue Storm just one win away. It all came down to Indira Moshi '24 in the #1 spot, and after dropping the first game, she battled back in tough conditions to grab a 3-1 win and secure the 5-4 team victory.  

In the JV contest, the scores were reversed with St. Andrew's pulling out a 5-4 win, to send the Blue Storm home with a final record of 4-3.

Mercersburg finishes an outstanding season with a record of 15-4 and prepares to play in the US Nationals across the weekend of February 24-26.
