Girls' V Lacrosse Tops Park School

Mercersburg defeated Park School (Pikesville, MD) 17-9 in a girls' varsity lacrosse game played on Regents' Field May 1.

The game was tight early on as the Storm led by just one after the first quarter and three at halftime. An 8-3 advantage in the second half carried the team to the win.

Emerson Lisette '24 had a huge game with six goals and three assists and Alishya Thurmond '26 was right behind with five goals. Several other players got into the scoring column including Nora Smith '24 (two goals, three assists), Chloe Allis '25 (one goal, three assists), Maria Rihn '24 (one goal, two assists), Sarah Howley '26 (one goal) and Emma Diianni '25 (one goal). Logan Pixler '26 added an assist for her first varsity point.

Scarlett McArthur '24 had another solid day in goal with nine saves and head coach Kristin Ahlgren commented that she was helped tremendously by "defenders Hadley Frey '26, Nina McDowell '25, Mogere Nyakoe '25, Lexi Chepren '26, Emily Tan '24, and Grace Rachal '24, [who] all did a great job pressuring the Park players and causing turnovers." 

Mercersburg (6-7) hosts Martinsburg (WV) high school on Friday, May 3 at 5 pm.
