Mercersburg rallied from an early deficit to defeat host Madeira (McLean, VA) 17-10 in a girls' varsity lacrosse game April 3.
The Snails led 4-3 after the first period, but Mercersburg moved into the lead 8-6 by halftime and continued to pull away from there.
Emerson Lissette '24 scored 7 goals and dished out 2 assists to lead the offense while Alysha Thurmond '26 scored 4 times and also had 2 assists. Maria Rihn '24 chipped in 3 goals and 2 assists and Chloe Allis '25, Emma Diianni '25, and Sarah Howley each scored once with Allis adding an assist. Scarlet McArthur '24 had a huge game in the net coming up with 16 saves.
Head coach Kristin Ahlgren added that "Nora Smith '24 did a great job shutting down Madeira's big scorer on a face guard assignment and also pulled in 4 draw controls. This was a great game for us as we continue to improve."
The Storm is now 2-3 for the season with a home game against Blair Academy on Saturday, April 6 at noon.
