Mercersburg tied a season-high with 17 goals as they defeated University High School (Morgantown, WV) 17-5 in a girls' varsity lacrosse game played on Regents' Field April 19.
Alishya Thurmond '26 and Emerson Lissette '24 scored four goals each for the Storm with Sarah Howley '25 adding three as all three players picked up the hat trick. Mogere Nyakoe '25 (two goals), Chloe Allis '25 (two goals), Maria Rihn '24 (one goal), and Nora Smith '24 (one goal) also got found the net. Lissette also had four assists with Allis and Rihn picking up two and Smith and Allis one each. Scarlett McArthur '24 collected seven saves in goal while Nina McDowell came up big with key ground balls in each quarter.
The Storm came to compete and played a great game," said head coach Kristin Ahlgren. "We dominated the 50-50 ball battles."
Next up for the Storm (4-5 overall) is a quick turnaround for a game at Peddie in Hightstown, NJ on Saturday, April 20 at 2:30 pm.
