Mercersburg pulled out a dramatic 58-56 win over host Hun School (Princeton, NJ) in a Mid-Atlantic Prep League girls' varsity basketball game February 2.
The score was tied at 56 in the final moments and Hun had the ball. Raquel Cordero Cordoba '24 pulled off a great defensive play, stripping the ball away from her opponent. Nia Henley '24 picked the ball up and dribbled the length of the floor and made a tough, contested layup at the buzzer to give Mercersburg the win. Annie Mohr '26 led the Storm with 23 points while Henley had 10 and Lilly Crounse '25 added a career high of 9.
With the victory, the Storm improve to 12-6 overall and finish the MAPL regular season with a record of 4-2. Hun and Hill also went 4-2 in the MAPL creating a three-way tie for second place. Names were later drawn from a hat, resulting in Mercersburg receiving the #3 seed and a home play-in game against Lawrenceville on Thursday, February 8.
Mercersburg will host Broadfording Christian Academy on Saturday, February 3 at noon.
