Mercersburg easily handled visiting Lawrenceville 70-37 in the first round of the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Girls' Varsity Basketball Tournament February 8.

The teams traded baskets on their opening possessions, but then the third-seeded Storm scored 15 straight to take a 17-2 lead, and the game was basically over. The lead increased to 44-13 by halftime and at one point in the second half, Mercersburg led the #6 Big Red by over 40 points. Annie Mohr '26 scored 21 points in the first half and ended with 26, including five three-pointers. Maddie Goodhart '24 added 10 points while Nia Henley '24 and Lilly Crounse '25 had 8 each.

Next up for the Storm (15-6 overall) is a semi-final matchup against the #2 seed Hill on Saturday, February 10 at 2 pm. The semi-finals and finals for both boys' and girls' will be hosted by the Hun School of Princeton, NJ.
