Girls' Track Team Second at MAPL Championship Meet

Lawrenceville (NJ) hosted and dominated the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Track and Field Championship meet May 13, but the Blue Storm girls' team had a strong day, taking second place overall while the boys' team finished fifth.

Hannah King '23 brought home MAPL championships in two events, the high jump and the 400M hurdles. Ella Blanco '26 was also a double champion, winning the 3200M run on her own and handling a leg on the victorious 4 x 800M Relay team along with Greta Lawler '23, Gigi Devlin '24, and Leah Willis '24. Annie Mohr '26 won the javelin as the Blue Storm girls' took titles in five different events.

While no champions were crowned on the boys' side, some notable performances included Ken Akiyama '23, Chuks Ugori '23, and Arnav Rao '26 finishing 3, 4, and 5 in the 400M dash, Jinwoo Kim '23 and Adrian Rios '25 taking second and third in the javelin, and a second place finish for the 4 x 400M relay squad.

Mercersburg athletes who qualified will compete in the PAISSA state track meet on Saturday, May 20 at Malvern Prep (Malvern, PA).
