Girls’ Track & Field Wins Hill Relays; Boys 3rd

Mercersburg’s girls’ track and field team took first place at the Hill Relays April 9 in Pottstown, PA, while the Blue Storm boys finished third. The annual event has a different format than a typical track & field meet, with the results of each individual event being determined by the top two performances from each school.

The Storm won the girls’ high jump, pole vault, triple jump, and discus, along with the traditional 4x800m relay. On the boys’ side, Mercersburg took first in the pole vault and long jump, as well as the 4x800m and distance medley relays.

The Blue Storm will be in action at home for the first time this season Tuesday, April 12, when Mercersburg hosts a midweek meet beginning at 3:30 p.m. on the Curran Track. The event features St. Maria Goretti, St. John’s Catholic Prep, and the Maryland School for the Deaf in addition to the Storm.
